High-Viz Motorcycle Clothing & Gear – Be Visible, Be Safe!

High Viz Motorcycle Gear

It’s dark, you are on your motorcycle, pacing at a steady pace, no untoward movement, no sudden swishes and swashes or unnecessary swagger – in short a safe riding experience. But suddenly, you see an automobile charging at you! You flash your headlights, slow down but the other person is still charging. You flash, take a swerve to the side and are saved by inches! Phew! That was close.

Riding is already a dangerous activity and especially at night when a rider draped in the darkness on a black or any other colored bike that doesn’t stand out, becomes a silhouette hard to distinguish from the surroundings for other motorists on the road. To combat this problem, many brands have invested in technology that makes bikers and motorists more visible and distinguishable on the roads. The motorcycle gear that helps achieve this is the Hi-Viz motorcycle gear that shines in the dark and is fluorescent enough to make you stand out in unlit areas or dark stretches on the roads.

Let’s check out some of the High-Viz biking gear that you can order on Burn Out Italy.

Is It the Open Face Helmet for You?

Open Face Helmets

In the motorcycling world as in any other there are loyalists and the type of motorcycle helmet that has divided the maximum number of bikers around the globe is the open face helmet. Yes, some of us like the modular helmets which offers more protection than convenience and some of us are just too much in love with the open face helmets to see the benefits of modular helmets.

At Burn Out Italy, we love all kinds and retail all kinds of helmets too. Come to think of it, it’s not really about which one’s better but which one suits your needs, taste and style better. Some want the breeze to kiss their faces when riding and are ready to give up the covering and comfort that modular helmets offer. Result: they go for open face motorcycle helmets and recommend them whole-heatedly.

So if you are also among the ones who just simply can’t get over the charm and the joy of riding with an open face bike helmet then you will love our collection of open face helmets.

Burn Out Italy’s Open Face Helmets Line:

The new addition to make the collection even more irresistible are the GPA aircraft helmets. Roof helmets with their innovative and ever-cool designs continue to be the favorite of many. Then there’s the Bell Shorty and Schuberth helmets that vie for attention as well.

If you are a friend of the wind and like the way it brushes against your face when you ride on the long and open roads, then the open face helmets here will impress you no bound.

P.S - The open face helmets are as safe as they come, except there won’t be a full face covering as in the modular helmets. Doesn’t mean less protection but only more exposure; as we like to put it

Modular Helmets

Modular helmets are flip-up helmets. Many people instead of going for full face motorcycle helmets, like modular helmets that can be well, flipped up.

So which helmets do you like? Do you go on the looks, design or the comfort and functionality of motorcycle helmets before making the final decision? When buying a motorcycle helmet, one must take into account a couple of factors (before the style, look and designing): the fit, functionality and the comfort.

Let’s see what do modular helmets offer in this regard:

  1. Modular helmets are undoubtedly convenient and a lot of people find them safe as well. However, many people find that it is more convenient than safe. The popular verdict is that modular helmets are both convenient and safe. 6 out of 10 people would go for modular helmets. The convenience is pretty evident as you can flip up the helmet when you want to have a drink or sip on your energizers. Breathing in more air can also be more regulated with the help of modular helmets and the rider can ride with the hear flipped up when feeling suffocated.
  2. A lot of people feel that modular helmets may open up on their own if a crash happens and instead of protecting, these will result in even more harm and hurt. However, the latest modular helmets from top brands do not pose any threats as the safety systems and latch mechanisms are not only efficient but also reliable on these modular biking helmets.
  3. Many of the modular helmets have great visors as well. You can wear your sunglasses underneath and enjoy a comfort fit of a modular helmet.

Modular helmets are pretty comfortable, functional and come with washable linings. Check out the entire collection of modular motorcycle helmets at: http://www.burnoutitaly.com/helmets/modular-helmets

Airoh Terminator Helmet Review

Airoh Terminator Monster — Super Light for Heavy Action

Images and review by Gary Ilminen

The Airoh Terminator Monster helmet offers lightweight protection even on snow!

The Airoh Terminator Monster full-face helmet weighs only about 1.06 kg (2.3 lb.); the result of the high-tech multiaxial carbon & Kevlar fiber composite shell. Though the material is extremely strong, the rigidity of the shell is enhanced by a lip around the bottom edge of the rear of the helmet and the chin bar is contoured to add rigidity up front. For any helmet, strength and lightweight construction are important criteria, but for a helmet that may be selected for competition in motorcycle or snowmobile competition, it is a must.

The shell finish and Monster Energy racing livery is flawless and the “Airoh” marque is prominent in white across the back of the helmet. The removable, washable interior comfort liner and chin strap are also white. The retention system is a typical double-D ring set-up and the Terminator helmet features Airoh’s “emergency system,” which allows quick cheek piece removal using bright red fabric loops that protrude from each side of the bottom of the helmet.

Ventilation is assured by vents at each side of the top of the opening and two small vents inside the opening. Additional air intake is provided by screened openings at the front of the chin bar. Four large rear crown vents and four additional vents under the lip at the bottom of the back of the shell exhaust air from inside the helmet.

The Airoh Terminator model meets ECE 22.05 helmet standard for safety. It is available at: http://www.burnoutitaly.com/airoh-terminator-helmets
